With such a vibrant, eccentric and immersive sound, Jackson has managed to introduce a breath of fresh air to the music scene. His work encompasses an indie base, while presenting an honest and organic collection of pieces that can only make one feel warm and familiar. His recent tour has been a complete success and Jackson’s audiences have been enamored. With recent release “blue avenue dream” and fan favorites “darling” and “red car” his work feels like a love that arrives healed and fully formed.
“My name is Jackson Marshall, I’m from San Antonio, Texas. I’m 20 years old, and yeah…I’m here.”

“I’m here” is an understatement. There's a grounded confidence in his persona and sound that truly resonates with listeners. His upbringing is a main account for that vibe. His love for music began at home. As a child, he grew up listening to music with his family which transpired into making small pieces with his brother on Garageband. “From a young age, I was just listening to music with my dad and my brother. I grew up in the church so there was a lot of Christian music. Not necessarily all I listen to now, but it influences my music now in different ways,” he stated.
When it comes to his process, Jackson draws inspirations from life and how he’s feeling. When creating “red car” it was just a regular day in the studio. “We started on the keys, and the synth line that comes out to you on the bridge -- we knew it was a special moment and we built off of that. The whole world that was behind that was really fun. That is definitely one of my favorites.”

Even still, Jackson admitted creating isn’t fully effortless. “Sometimes you end up with one chorus on a verse,” he said. “The hardest part is channeling the same energy you had when you first started. But it’s still fun.” Even after creating from a young age, he’s had to trust himself fully and keep going regardless of comments from his peers. His advice for artists expresses that faith. “If you know you want to do it [music], just try your hardest at it. Put your foot down and keep going. There’s not many excuses. There’s outlets to put your music out and show the world. Just go do it.”
As he closes out his tour, his work leaves a reminder for all listeners. Be rooted in all moments, and embrace vulnerability. Wrapped in an upbeat and pop-driven sound, the intention behind his works reminds audiences that everything will be alright. It’s always okay to embrace that new kind of familiar -- the one that’s comforting, hopeful and completely theirs.
